Although most of our gardeners are RHS qualified or have vast gardening experience, every new staff member completes a thorough in-house staff training programme delivered by Sonya, who herself is RHS level 2 qualified and has many years of horticultural experience working within domestic gardens.
But the training doesn't stop there! As with any type of business, on-going staff training is an imperative part of the success of any business and here at Beautiful Borders, it is no different. We strongly believe in delivering the best possible service to our customers and knowledge is key! Therefore Sonya creates, develops and delivers training throughout the year to our team members to ensure they are fully confident in the tasks undertaken in the garden.
We are extremely lucky that Kim, the Beautiful Borders business owner secured a large, diverse Rectory garden in which we are able to train our gardeners. We have access to orchards, rose beds, compost areas and a range of diverse growing conditions - full sun/shaded areas, gravelled areas in which to train, learn new skills, refresh and update existing skills.
Here at Beautiful Borders, we are border
specialists, so therefore our training covers planning, and creating a border, rose pruning, plant and weed identification, soil types, fruit tree pruning and best garden practices. We deliver practical hands-on training with theory training notes as a take away from the practical experiences.
The training is available to our gardeners, whenever the need arises. This enables our gardeners to be confident to improve soil, prune and plant at the optimum time of year.
