Winter doesn't mean your garden has to lose it's charm. In fact, a winter hanging basket can be the perfect way to add colour, texture and life to your outdoor space during the colder months!
With a little planning, you can design a basket that thrives in low temperatures and keeps your garden looking vibrant, even when most plants are dormant.

The basket you choose needs to be durable enough to withstand Winter weather. Wire baskets lined with moss are our favourites, but plastic baskets also work well.
Be sure to use a basket with good drainage to prevent waterlogging, as excessive moisture can freeze and harm the plants.
Winter baskets require hardy plants that can survive frost and cold weather. Include evergreens along with your winter flowering plants to provide structure as well as colour.
Plants such as Heuchera or dwarf Conifers provide structure while Pansies, Cyclamen and Heathers brighten up any basket! Add in trailing plants such as Ivy to create a cascading effect.
For fun, you can add seasonal accessories to your baskets such as pinecones or even fairy lights for a bit of interest day and night!
If making up baskets is not your thing, but you would love to have one or two (or several!) then Beautiful Borders can provide you with them, ready made and delivered, so all you have to do it sit back and watch them blossom in the darker months!
